Over the 4 sessions you will learn to make 3 garments;
1 – Flutterby Dress / Pair of shorts
2 – Elsie dress (fully lined) / PJ Bottoms
3 – Party Dress / Short sleeved shirt
You will learn how to use a sewing machine to create a work of art – Gill will be on hand to guide and teach you as well as inspire to help you reach your creative best! No prior knowledge of machine embroidery is needed, just some experience of using a standard sewing machine.
Bring your project that you’re currently working on, use our machines or bring along your own and stitch with like-minded people! A social sew with a cuppa and biscuit!
Each month we will run our stitching club where you will make a quick project using fat quarters. A great little social sew – includes a hot drink and a biscuit (or 2!)
4th – Make up bag / Pencil case

This is perfect for complete beginners! You will start by trying out the machine and feeling comfortable using it and then move on to making your chosen garment! Skills learnt – sewing a garment by following a basic pattern, elastic casing and seam finishing.
This course is suitable if you have some experience of sewing with a regular machine and want to learn some basic skills with an overlocker to make sewing with jersey so quick and easy! You will learn some basic skills with an overlocker in order to sew a garment – the Coco dress is such a flattering style and can be worn across all seasons!
Learn to sew with jersey on a standard machine! We will be making a child’s jumper with cuffed sleeves and neckline. With so many gorgeous and fun stretch fabrics to choose from this is a pattern and skill that will ensure you never need to buy a child’s jumper ever again!
The Cleo is easy to make and oh so comfortable to wear. Make it dungaree-style with buckles or as a pinafore with buttons. Wear Cleo all year round, with a Breton top in the summer or a roll neck and snuggly tights in the winter. This is a great introduction to dressmaking and suitable for beginners.
We have so many new fabrics perfect for the summer season and we will show you how to turn your favourite in to the most perfect party outfit for your little Miss or Mr! You will learn how to make our popular party dress or shirt and will take home with you a copy of the pattern!
From Named Clothing, the Kielo Wrap dress is a classic in the stitching world! A simple but extravagant dress with an interesting shape. A sleeveless design with a round neckline, this is a perfect dress for the warmer months. This is a new pattern and new workshop for us – we may finish before 4pm but have allocated plenty of time! All materials and a copy of the Kielo Wrap Dress pattern is included in the price.
10am – 12pm – Making shorts – You can choose between sewing a pair of cotton or jersey shorts with a jersey cuffing waistband. A great beginners project, you can choose to stitch on a standard machine or one of our overlockers!
1pm – 4pm – Making a jersey dress – This is a project for the overlocker and a great introduction to sewing with stretch fabrics! This dress is floaty and perfect for the warmer months, the long sleeve version will see your little one through to the autumn and winter.
Just in time for the holidays!! Come and sew an insulated beach bag that can hold all beach essentials whilst keeping your drinks chilled! A simple yet really effective project.
