I’m a huge fan of simple sewing projects, I love the sense of achievement they bring - uncomplicated, stress free, quick yet beautiful!

One of the first items I ever made was a tote bag, they’re so simple and can be made in under an hour. My daughter still uses it today as her nursery bag.

What I love most about tote bags is how versatile they are. Suitable for all age groups, all genders and can be used anytime, anyplace, anywhere! I have one permanently folded up inside my handbag ready for any impromptu stops at the shops.

I want to share with you the bag I make. This is a no pattern, pattern that is suitable for beginner level up.

This pattern requires just ½ metre of fabric and matching thread – absolutely nothing else!

Using fabrics from it will cost as little as £3.50 to make, that’s using our everyday, non designer fabrics - HERE

Or, from £6 – 6.40 using our designer fabrics. HERE

To make yours purchase ½ a metre of fabric of your choice, print the pattern from the ‘Lovely Patterns (They’re FREE)' section of the shop and you’re good to go!

We would absolutely love for you to share your creations with us. All you need to do is send us an email with an image of your handiwork and we'll post it on our 'hall of fame'! Please email us at or share by message on our Facebook page Little Miss Sew ‘n’ Sew via Facebook Messenger.
