Well this is a bit of an overdue update!  I haven’t written a blog post since the beginning of the summer!  So much has happened, we survived the school holidays (just about) launched some new ranges such as the Dashwood Studio range ‘Copenhagen’ – a really fresh and modern range in blue and white, the fun range by Michael Miller Rainbow Girls and again from Dashwood Studio the Norrland Range especially for Christmas and the winter season!

We’ve also had a bit of a change at Little Miss Sew ‘n’ Sew HQ, we sadly had to say goodbye (on a LMSS level) to Jodie as she made the tough decision to step away from the business to concentrate on her family, with 3 little ones under 6 and 2 fur babies I completely understood her decision.  She is still a massive supporter of all things LMSS and I see her every day on the school run – plus we do have a night out planned in a few weeks time to celebrate our birthdays!!

So now is the time to re-focus and plan some exciting launches for you all!  I recently launched The Elsie Dress, a fully lined A line dress which is such an easy pattern, great for beginners and so versatile to wear for the Autumn and Winter seasons.  I have some needlecord and brushed cotton coming very soon to the shop so there will be some great variations for winter dresses to be launched!

I also have some jersey to launch.. I don’t know how many of my Little Miss Stitchers are used to sewing with Jersey but I must say that for me it’s a new fabric to work with and I am so surprised at how easy it is!!  A new pattern launch and blog will be coming up next!  And I have a little secret on some patterns for grown ups – I’m not saying a word just yet but soooo excited to show you all!!

For now though, whether you’re ready for it or not (!) it’s all feeling very festive here at Little Miss Sew ‘n’ Sew HQ!!  There is so much to come in preparation for the Christmas Season, I wish there were more hours in the day to get it all ready for you!!  This is our first Christmas so I have dipped my toe in the water and not gone too crazy on ordering Christmas fabric – without Jodie here to reign me in it was a tough job to hold back but I’m really pleased with the range that I have chosen for you all and I think there’s a great mixture to create all sorts of Christmas craft projects.  The Christmas page in my shop is called ‘Tis the season to be jolly (hic!)' and is found under ‘Themes’.  It’s now loaded up with the full Christmas range including the recently launched Little Miss Get Stitching pack ‘Christmas Stocking’ made with ‘Santas Little Helpers’ by Windham.  The Little Miss Get Stitching Packs will see some additions in the coming weeks to encourage you all to get Christmas stitching – whether it’s for Christmas décor or planning presents, now is the time to get organised!

The fabric range covers some classic prints from Michael Miller such as the Holiday Fairies – perfect for girls party dresses (or Mummies for that matter!), Toy Soldiers, of which I’m dying to make in to a shirt for my little boy, Holiday Hostess and a newly released print that I think is my favourite Old World Santa.  It really is a classic print encompassing everything I think makes Christmas ‘Christmassy’!

The Dashwood StudioNorrland’ collection is just magical, it’s designed by Bethan Janine and has touches of metallic gold.  It’s very ‘geo-winter’ and featuring her signature woodland creatures lends itself beautifully to a whole host of Christmas dressmaking and crafting projects.

We also have a great ‘non designer range’ priced from £1.75 for a fat quarter.  This range is still 100% cotton and excellent quality (I accept nothing less in the LMSS shop!)  This range has some Scandi influences with a collection featuring the modern grey colour way and some really Chrismassy feeling prints in more traditional reds, whites and gold metallics!  Watch this space – I have some ideas for some stitching packs to help you with your Christmas table and home décor!  I also have some ready cut fat quarter bundles in the grey and cream, the red and cream and the red, gold and cream metallic colour ways.

With 3 months to go until the big day it feels like we have loads of time to prepare – but with busy lives time goes quickly!  It’s time to start planning those Christmas projects and Christmas present makes!  If you have any great ideas for projects please share them with me – I’m hoping to make more presents this year and love some inspiration!!

And if you buy any of our fabrics or get stitching packs please don’t forget to share them with us, we love to see your makes, (by ‘we’ it’s me and Mr Sew ‘n’ Sew and he’s been really getting in to the stitching spirit in recent months!)  Please share with us either on our Facebook page or drop us an email at

Enjoy the Christmas season and Happy Stitching!
